Today is the last day Chief Illiniwek will be performing at a sporting event at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It was bound to happen sometime, but the news came a bit suddenly last week. I made it down to Champaign this past weekend and watched the Illinois vs. Northwestern basketball game and saw the chief one last time.
